Christmas In The Park
Kansas City Christmas in the Park is one of Jackson County Parks and Recreation’s most celebrated events of the year. Three hundred thousand lights and 175 animated figures and splashes of Christmas color transform Longview Lake Park into an enchanting winter wonderland. The entire family will delight in the warmth of this fun-filled, holiday display gift from your Jackson County Parks.
Treat your whole family to the eye-dazzling delight that is “Christmas In The Park.” Jackson County Parks and Recreation has made these animated displays at the Longview Lake Campgrounds a holiday tradition since 1988, striving to make each year better — and brighter — than the year before. If you live in the Kansas City area, you cannot miss seeing Christmas In The Park! Many people already came by on Thanksgiving Day to see this magnificent display, why not end your Black Friday shopping with Christmas in the Park. This event will go on till the end of December so you have plenty of time to visit.
While Christmas In The Park is certainly a treat for kids of all ages, this spectacular holiday event truly illuminates the season of giving. Although there is no charge for this drive-thru event, donations are accepted at exit points. This year, a portion of the proceeds of KC Christmas in the Park will be divided among 40 local charities. Since the first “Christmas In The Park” in 1988, the amount donated to charities has surpassed $500,000.
