Sweet Corn Fest
The Sweet Corn Fest is happening at the famous Powell Gardens, located 30 miles east of Kansas City on Highway 50, today. Powell Gardens brings back a favorite event from the former International Vegetable Garden.
- Sample fresh-picked corn,
- get new ideas during a chef’s demonstration,
- shop for corn to take home and
- learn tips for growing your own.

Kids can make simple corn husk dolls and darts.
Fresh: A Garden Cafe will offer a special festival lunch. Live banjo music from noon to 2 p.m.
