Ringing in the Season

Get ready for Ringing in the Season festivities in Excelsior Springs, MO, with the Mayor’s Tree Lighting. This annual event that kicks off Excelsior Springs’ holiday season! The opening of the Hall of Trees in the historic Hall of Waters will be a highlight of this evening that includes live entertaining, refreshments and pictures with Santa. Progressive Taste of Christmas is between 1 and 4pm and Christmas Parade in Lights is at 6pm.

  • Progressive Taste of Christmas, 1-4 p.m. ($10 per person; children 5 and under free)
  • Activities continue with singing, dancing and pictures with Santa, 4-6 p.m.
  • Chili Supper sponsored by MAGIC, Senior Citizens’ Center, 4-8 p.m.
  • Christmas Parade in Lights, 6 p.m.
  • Mayor’s Christmas Lighting, 7 p.m.
  • Hall of Trees in the Hall of Waters opening
  • “Lane of Lights” a drive through lighting display opens

9th Annual Jazz & Wine Festival

The Missouri 9th Annual Jazz & Wine Festival is this Saturday October 3rd at The Elms Resort & Spa in Excelsior Springs, MO. The Elms Resort & Spa is the perfect backdrop for this annual event.  Enjoy:

  • great jazz music,
  • sample wine from around the world (10 tastings) and
  • stroll the grounds with artists and crafters offering their wares.

This annual event starts at noon and ends at 9pm.   Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

Music will fill the air by various local musicians. The current line-up includes:

HoraceScope featuring Stan Kessler – noon – 2:00pm
Soaring Sax Man Dave Panico – 2:15pm-3:15pm
Bram Wijnands with Laura Glaeser – 3:30pm – 4:30pm
Killer Stray Horn – 4:45pm-6:45pm
The James Ward Band – 7:00pm-9:00pm

If purchased in advance, tickets are $20 for adults. That includes admission to the festival and 10 wine tastings.

Non-tasting admission to the festival for one child 12 years of age and older on Oct 3, 2009, costs $8 (this includes non-wine tasting adults)

This is the 28th annual Excelsior Springs Waterfest. There will be a lot of fun and also many vendors to shop from. You can expect:

  • Live Entertainment,
  • Kids Games,
  • Little Mr. & Miss Waterfest Contest,
