Louisburg Freedom Festival

The Louisburg Annual 4th of July celebration will be filled with fun, family activities, apple pie contest, kiddie tractor pull, food concessions, booths, inflatables, patriotic ceremony and fantastic fireworks display at dark. This event is free.

Star Spangled Spectacular

The 2010 Star Spangled Spectacular at Corporate Woods will be from 4pm to 11pm on July 4th. The Star Spangled Spectacular is much more than a fantastic fireworks display. This is an old fashioned 4th of July celebration with entertainment for all ages. This year is the 19th year of this wonderful event.Events kick off at 4PM and last until 11PM. So plan to spend the afternoon and evening there!

KCRiverFest 2010

KCRiverFest is the Summer Festival in Kansas City! KCRiverFest, nominated for Best Fair/Festival 2008 by the Special Event Magazine International Gala Awards, brings our community together for a fun, family celebration on our nation’s birthday. Located at Richard L. Berkley Park, KCRiverFest has become “Kansas City’s Riverfront Tradition,” known as the only place in downtown Kansas City to celebrate the Fourth of July weekend with fireworks and family entertainment. The fifth annual KCRiverFest features the largest fireworks display in Downtown Kansas City, great bands, crafts, a Children’s Zone with rides and entertainment, river boardwalk, a variety of foods, exhibits and more.
It’s also a great place for your company picnic!

Children’s Zone

KCRiverFest is for kids of all ages, and our Children’s Zone has a variety of rides, attractions and activities just for the little ones! Besides the fun performances on the Show Me Stage Brought to You by Radio Disney, there are fun rides and attractions. For an additional fee ($10 per wristband), kiddos can have unlimited rides all day (please note the rock climbing wall is an additional fee per climb). Get in the zone, kids!

Parkville Fourth of July Celebration

Historic Downtown Parkville kicks off “Stars and Stripes Forever” on Thursday, July 1 when the carnival open in the parking lot at the south end of Main Street.  But that’s just the beginning of an event that’s known as “the biggest, best all-American Independence Day celebration in the Kansas City are.” In addition to the carnival, this fun, family-style celebration includes a community parade, a pancake breakfast, a variety of food vendors, a beer tent and, of course, our big firework finale. Grand Marshal of the parade, this year, is Parkville native and Park College graduate, Major Rueben H. Siverling (U.S. Army Retired).  A highly decorated Viet Nam war veteran, Major Siverling served as a helicopter pilot and as a commander of the famous 4th Infantry Division’s Company E. Come early and bring the family for a weekend of good, old-fashioned Americana in Historic Downtown Parkville.

When is the parade?

The annual Parkville 4th of July Celebration parade will start off this exciting celebration on Saturday, July 3 at 10:00 am which begins at 63rd Street and Hwy 9 and ends in Historic Downtown Parkville.  Parade line up will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday at 63rd Street and Bell Road.

This year’s theme is “Stars and Stripes Forever”.  Monetary prizes will be awarded to the “Best Themed” entries.  All participants are asked to decorate their entries accordingly.

Independence Day 19th Century Style

Celebrate Independence Day, 19th Century Style, at Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm Historic Site, 1200 Kansas City Rd., Olathe. Bring your picnic lunch, your chairs and blankets. Decorate your wagons, bicycles and strollers to join in our parade beginning at 11:30am, prizes will be awarded.

Enjoy a reading of the Declaration of Independence at 12pm followed by a cannon firing! Other activities include:

  • music by the Bluegrass Missourians from 1pm-2pm and
  • 19th Century Base Ball with the Shawnee Indian Mission Missioners following the music.

Free admission, fee charged for stagecoach rides, lemonade, pie and ice cream. Come enjoy this all American Celebration!
