The Jazz Concert to benefit The Children’s Place is on Saturday December 12, 2009. Kansas City native and platinum selling and award winning singer and songwriter Carol Duboc is joined by three time Grammy nominee Hubert Laws in concert celebrating her new CD Burt Bacharach Songbook benefiting The Children’s Place. The concert will be held in Kansas City’s Folly Theater with a wine tasting at 7 p.m. and the concert at 8 p.m.

You are invited to support Winston’s Little Holiday Mart is this Saturday, November 21st from 9am to 2pm. Winston Bertrand was born with some medical challenges. The Bertrand family is facing growing medical and travel expenses. Jennifer Bertrand, who taught Art at Cottonwood Point, gave birth to an amazing little boy, Winston in February of this year. Winston was born with Lymphatic and Venous Malformations. Round the clock nursing care and frequent trips to specialists in New York City have resulted in mounting health care bills not covered by insurance. Visit this holiday mart for great shopping opportunities from many vendors as well as a bake sale. This event will be a cash and carry holiday gift sale and bake sale. Breakfast and lunch available for purchase.

Save the date for Faulkenberry Fundraiser, a fund raising event to benefit Stacy Faulkenberry. Stacy Faulkenberry is 33 years old and was recently diagnosed with Rectal Cancer.  She is a loving wife and mother with two beautiful sons.  She just began chemotherapy & radiation but this will be a long process for her treatment plan. This fundraiser is to raise money for her medical bills and supplies.  The event will be hosted at Brock’s Bar & Grill on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009.  The organizer is accepting auction/raffle items as well as cash/checks.  Along with the auction/raffle there will be a free buffet from 7 – 10pm and an Elvis impersonator will perform @ 9pm. You are invited to come and support Stacy & her family.
