The Ninth Annual Eagle Day

The Ninth Annual Eagle Day event sponsored by by the Kansas City Kansas Public Library, Board of Public Utilities and Operation Wildlife is this Saturday January 16th. Everyone is invited to the Mr. & Mrs. F. L. Schlagle Library, an environmental learning center located on the west side of Wyandotte County Lake Park, 91st and Leavenworth Rd. for a day of learning about our national symbol.

  • See a live Bald Eagle up close.
  • See other live birds of prey on exhibit and talk with volunteers from Operation Wildlife.
  • Watch the PBS Nature Series presentation of “American Eagle.”
  • Have fun at the children’s activity areas.
  • Check out binoculars for viewing the eagles and other wintering birds of the lake.

Schedule of Events:

  • Eagle presentations by Operation Wildlife at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
  • Birds of Prey exhibit 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Children’s craft activities and eagle watching available all day.
  • Watch the PBS presentation of “American Eagle” at 11:30 a.m.
