Christmas In The Park
Christmas in the Park is one of Jackson County Parks and Recreation’s most celebrated events of the year. Treat your whole family to the eye-dazzling delight that is “Christmas In The Park.” Jackson County Parks and Recreation has made these animated displays at the Longview Lake Campgrounds a holiday tradition since 1988, striving to make each year better — and brighter — than the year before.
Three hundred thousand lights and 175 animated figures and splashes of Christmas color transform Longview Lake Park into an enchanting winter wonderland. The entire family will delight in the warmth of this fun-filled, holiday display gift from your Jackson County Parks.
Now “Christmas In The Park” is a festive fixture in Jackson County, among the three most popular holiday experiences in the entire Greater Kansas City region (according to the Kansas City Convention and Visitors Association) — along with the Plaza Lights and The Mayor’s Christmas Tree, both of which just happen to also be in Jackson County. Each year approximately 200,000 people enjoy “Christmas In The Park.” Admission is free but donations for local charities accepted.
