Kansas City Zoo Teacher Appreciation Day
On September 26th, 2009, at the Kansas City Zoo, it is Teacher Appreciation Day. Teachers can come and enjoy a free day at the Zoo for himself/herself as well as 3 of his/her family members. Just show your teacher ID and you can get in and enjoy the Zoo from 9:30 to 2pm. The Zoo actually closes at 4pm. This free Teachers Day event is in partnership with the Kansas City Environmental Educator’s Network or KCEEN. The KC Zoo is hosting a day to honor teachers and all the great work that they do.
Advance reservations are strongly suggested. You can email education@fotzkc.org by September 23rd, a few days before the actual event day. You need to include:
- your name
- your school
- grade teaching
- number of people attending
The Zoo will send you a confirmation email when they have received and processed your reservation.
You day will include:
- admission for yourself and three family members
- tales shared by the Zoo’s docents about various zoo animals
- rides
- giveaways
- a sneak peak of educational resources and programs to use in your classroom and at the Zoo.
