This is the 2nd Annual Prairie Village Jazz Festival, which is free to the public, supporting Kansas City Jazz Artists. This year the artist will be:

• Shawnee Mission East Blue Knights Jazz Band,
• 12th Street Jump,
• The Peoples Liberation Band,
• Our sister city in the Ukraine “Dolyna Jazz Band”,
• Mike Metheny,
• Deborah Brown with the Central Time Jazz featuring Matt Otto, and
• Bobby Watson.

Lenexa’s Spinach Festival offers more than 80 different art, fine crafts and antique vendors. Visitors can see everything from stained glass to puzzle boxes to copper tree art. Other items are photography, handmade greeting cards, paintings, a variety of jewelry, pottery, many different antiques, collectable glass and fabric/soft crafts. Festival goers can sample specialty spinach dishes at the Spinach Garden Café by the Lenexa Historical Society. Other offerings include kettle corn, Italian ice, funnel cake, roasted nuts and a variety of beverages.The Kiwanis Club also hosts a Pancake breakfast at the Fire Station off Lackman Road from 7:30 -11am.
