Art Unleashed is a Silent & Live Auction of limited edition pet themed artwork.  They plan to have over 400 pieces available for auction.  All proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, KC’s OLDEST no-kill shelter (since 1912). The 13th Annual Art Unleashed is this Friday, August 27th. This event benefits the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City. Art and animals unite once again at the 13th Annual Art Unleashed. Bid on more than 400 pieces of original pet-themed artwork during the silent and live auction. Join Brett Anthony, from NBC Action News, and The Nigro Brothers as they host this fun and furry event for the shelter pets. There are both silent and live auctions. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres with a cash bar are available throughout the evening. They have custom designed Art Unleashed t-shirts at the event. All shirts (fitted or standard fit) are $15. Purchase them at the registration table.

The 2010 Western Farm Show will be on February 19th. The Western Farm Show in the American Royal Complex in Kansas City, will feature more than 500 exhibitors, covering more than 400,000 square feet of exhibit space. The exhibits will feature tractors and farm equipment, trailers, trucks, tools, seed, feed, buildings, chemicals, irrigation systems and a full range of other agribusiness products and services.

The American Royal Livestock Show & Auction is from October 27th to November 1st. With exhibitors from more than 33 states, The American Royal Livestock Show is one of the oldest and most prestigious shows in the country. Each year hundreds of America’s youth between the ages of 9 and 20 travel from 39 states to Kansas City for a chance to compete at the American Royal Livestock Show. These youth have worked all year to prepare their animals to be judged by top professional livestock judges. Hundreds of classes of cattle, swine lambs and goats will be contested. And this year, the traditional livestock breed sales will be held in the new Fort Dodge/John Deere Sale Arena. Youth that exhibit prize-winning animals are eligible to participate in the Junior Premium Livestock Auction.

At auction, the youth sell their champion livestock to raise funds to further their education. Proceeds of the Auction directly benefit the youth exhibitors, who are focused in agriculture – our country’s backbone. A portion of each sale is contributed to the American Royal to fund education programs and scholarships such as:

• Agriculture Achievement Scholarships
• Seaboard Veterinary Scholarship Program
• The Royal Ten Scholarship Program
