Walk on the Wildside

The 7th Annual Walk on the Wildwide – Stroke Walk is next Saturday, September 12th, 2009. You can walk 5k or 1 1/2 miles routes. Again this year, the Walk will be held at beautiful Shawnee Mission Park’s Theater in the Park in Shawnee, Kansas. Come & enjoy a day of fun in the park with your family, neighbors, church group or friends and help us to continue providing services and programs for local stroke survivors. Dogs on leashes are welcome. The drawing includes dinner for two at Trezo Vino Restaurant and one night at Aloft Leawood Leawood Hotel. The walk will benefit the American Stroke Foundation whose mission is to empower stroke survivors and their families to overcome ongoing challenges of life after stroke and rejuvenate their lives.

Serving 4 Stroke Sand Volleyball Tournament

Serving 4 Stroke Sand Volleyball Tournament is this Saturday. The tournament benefits the American Stroke Foundation. Your Next Play has chosen the American Stroke Foundation as beneficiary of this year’s volleyball tournament. These stroke survivors and their families have made a decision to move on to their next play and have chosen the ASF as their playing field. Without additional funds, the ASF is limited on the number of stroke survivors that they are able to assist and the variety of programs that they are able to offer. There will be:
- Former NFL players and other local celebrities on site!
- Silent Auction
- Raffles
- Best Team Uniform Contest
Admission Fee
$200 per team of 6, $25 for each additional player.
Admission fee guarantees:
- at least 3 games,
- a meal,
- 1 fish bowl drink per team, and
- a $5 gift card per player for the bar.
When is Serving 4 Stroke Sand Volleyball Tournament?
August 29th, 2009, from 11:00am – 5:00pm (or whenever done)
Registration @ 10 am – Games start @ 11 am
