On Saturday, July 24, 2010, visit Jacomo RC Flying Field for a fun event and a great cause, KCRC Harvesters Charity Fun Fly. Don’t miss KCRC’s 5th Annual fundraising event for Harvesters. Pilots and spectators are encouraged to bring canned goods or dry food items. All collected items and proceeds from pilot fees and concessions will be donated to Harvesters. Admission is free for spectators.

Guns ‘N Hoses Charity Boxing Event
The 5th Annual KC Guns ‘N Hoses Charity Boxing Event t is this Saturday November 7th. Guns ‘N Hoses is an exciting charity boxing event featuring Police, Fire and EMT personnel within the greater metropolitan area. Participants from:
the Missouri counties are:
- Cass County,
- Clay County,
- Jackson County and
- Platte County; and
the Kansas counties are:
- Douglas County,
- Johnson County,
- Miami County,
- Shawnee County and
- Wyandotte County.
Safety is paramount during the event, and all bouts are supervised by USA Boxing, which is the national governing body of amateur boxing in the United States. This Policemen & Firemen Amateur Boxing Event is expect to sell-out and a crowd of over 3,000 fans is expected.
100% of the proceeds from Guns ’N Hoses benefit local charities. The majority goes to the Kansas City Crime
Commission’s Surviving Spouse and Family Endowment Fund (SAFE), which provides financial assistance to the spouses and children of local sworn police officers, firefighters and emergency service personnel killed in the line of duty. The balance goes to amateur boxing programs in the Greater Kansas City area.

Quilt-R’s Market
Looking for some quilting supplies? The Quilt-R’s Market is this Saturday October 3rd at Hillside Christian Church Gym in Kansas City MO. You will find treasures for your quilt room, stash and projects. There is also a freecycle table to share and take quilt related items at no cost. There will be home made sweets and treats for sale. This Quilt-R’s Market event is to benefit the House of Menuha, providing opportunities for reflection & renewal for women to strengthen mind, body & spirit. House of Menuha is a 16-year old, 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to provide a nurturing environment for women to experience personal rest, reflection and renewal of body, mind and spirit.
