Hallowesta is back in Wellsville, KS on October 31st. Once again Hallowesta will be held on the actual Halloween night. This free, fun event will be on Saturday, October 31st, 2009 at 4:00pm between 4th and 5th on Main Street. Judging will begin promptly at 4:15pm. Bring all of your witches, goblins and princesses down for a GREAT time! Join the Fire Fighters for a hot dog roast immediately following at the city shop on South Main. Don’t forget to trick-or-treat the town to show of your FANTASTIC Halloween costumes!

Do you want to meet Mickey? Mickey Mouse will pay a visit to Kansas City’s Union Station this Saturday, October 10th, to unveil a traveling art exhibit that celebrates Walt Disney’s love of trains. Unique historical artwork has been pulled from the Walt Disney vault and is currently being prepped for the event. Disney fans, especially children, are invited to join Mickey and participate in the festivities, which will include various train-themed play stations, toy demonstrations, dancing and a chance to learn to draw Disney characters from Disney Master Artist John Quinn. The special traveling art exhibit will remain at Union Station for one week. This is a FREE event!

The 30th Annual Gladstone Gladfest or Gladfest 30 for short is going on this weekend, from October 2nd to October 4th.This is the Gladstone, Missouri’s annual Fall Festival hosted by the Gladstone Area Chamber of Commerce. This event is voted the Best Festival in the Northland! Admission is free. Gladfest is a wonderful fall festival with something for everyone! You may enjoy daily entertainment from Center Stage. Don’t miss Saturday morning’s Parade or Sunday’s Classic Car Show! A Carnival will be open all three days for kids of all ages. The Carnival will offer an “All You Can Ride” wristband special on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. There will be live music and entertainment that will satisfy the entire family. These include a carnival, parade, booths, live music, food, train/car show, and contests for every age. Kid’s Corner will once again be sponsored by Faubion United Methodist Church, offering activities and fun stuff for children. Their tent will be located next to Center Stage. Fine arts and hand-crafted items will be displayed in the Craft Tents along Cherry Street, plus others along 70th Street and N. Holmes, as well as inside City Hall.

Longview Art & World Music Festival is this weekend, from Friday October 2nd to Sunday October 4th. This is a National Fine Arts & Entertainment Festival in it’s 2nd year. The LAWMF is supported by member artists’, community members, local businesses and organizations. Admission is free and open to the public. There will be live music, dance, storytelling, and food. View and select original art from 85 regional artists, specially selected and juried by Summit Art. Stroll through treasured artifacts from the historic Longview Farm. Learn the surprising history of the 95 year old property on a narrated hayride (Saturday only). Enjoy entertainment provided by 16 musical & performing groups.

See them up close, touch them, sit in them, maybe even get your picture taken inside! Learn about how these special trucks and vehicles are used by businesses and by others to serve the community and help create jobs!
