Tomorrow is Halloween! There are lots of events happening right here in the Kansas City Metro area. Kids love to go trick or treating to get lots of candies while dressed up in their favorite Halloween costumes. Boo at the Zoo
Get ready for Boo at the Zoo at the Kansas City Zoo this weekend on Saturday, Oct. 24 and Sunday, Oct. 25. Get into the Halloween spirit at the Kansas City Zoo. From 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. this weekend, the Kansas City Zoo gives your family a place to trick or treat! At Boo at the Zoo, costumes are encouraged for the kids (and the young at heart), and everyone will get to trick-or-treat at a dozen animal-themed stations and march in the costume parades at 1 & 3 p.m. They’ll also have:
- the scarecrow express train,
- haunted pirate ship,
- hooping and hooting,
- Boneville Graveyard,
- jack-o-lantern display,
- hay rides,
- spooky animal shows and much more.
(Note: Animal exhibits close at 5 p.m.) Kids will be seen, not scared, at this annual event. Go trick or treating this weekend at the Kansas City Zoo and have a blast!

From 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
At 1 and 3 p.m. everyone is invited to participate in a Costume Parade.

The Enchanted Forest
The Enchanted Forest is back! This annual Halloween non-scary event is held at George Owens Nature Park in Independence MO. You’ll be in guided groups and will move through the magical and mystical forest where you will find everything from fairies to fairy tales characters. Storybook, popular, movie characters, and fairy tales come to life as groups move along candlelit trails. The adventure ends with an old fashioned hayride past the park’s lakes and a light display to be enjoyed by all. The Enchanted Forest is sponsored by the Powerhouse Theatre Foundation and the Independence Parks and Recreation Department. Thousands of people come to George S. Owens Nature Park each year to see the transformed George Owens Nature Park. Enter this enchanted place where you will feel young again. This is a great way to celebrate Halloween without getting scared. Both young and older children will enjoy this enchanted forest but it is aimed at children between the ages of three and nine.
