Family Fun Day: Exploring Quilts

Like Quilts? The Kansas City Museum’s “First Sunday” Family Fun Day this month explores quilts. The Kansas City Museum’s First Sunday Family Fun Day event, held on the First Sunday of every month, allows children to have fun while also having an exceptional learning experience. There are historic games and scavenger hunts held on the grounds to play. For the artsy person in your family, there is an arts and crafts area. There’s historical information and exterior panels surrounding the Museum for the history aficionados and if you are lucky enough, you might get a free old-fashioned treat. Visitors to the Kansas City Museum site should enter the site at the North Gate. Follow the arrows and park on the street.

Explore the artistry and creative patterns and shapes of quilts this Family Fun Day. Quilts have been used over centuries to tell their family histories and stories and have been passed down from family member to family member.
