Save the date for A Central Christmas at the Central Church of the Nazarene in Lenexa KS that will take place the last weekend of October, October 30th and October 31st. A Central Christmas is the 15th annual Craft Show and Cookie Sale at the Church. They invite you to experience the finest crafts by well known area artisans. Visit your favorite crafters along with some new craft vendors. There will be hot-out-of-the-oven cookies! Free admission, hot cider, and coffee as well as Door prizes given away every hour. This is a fund raising event and a percentage of the proceeds is donated to Women’s Ministries.

The Lenexa Chili Challenge is always held on the third weekend of October each year. In 2009, the Lenexa Chili Challenge event will take place on Friday, October 16th and Saturday, October 17th. There are 100 teams competing in two divisions: Competition (C.A.S.I.) Chili and Home Style Chili. In 1999 a Salsa Division was added that has been very popular. Since then, they have also added a hot wing contest. Chili contestants show up Friday afternoon and begin setting up their booth space.

Save the date of the 24th Annual British Faire hosted by the Daughter of the British Empire in Kansas. This is the annual fundraising event to benefit retirement communities and local charities. There is also a traditional British tea time that costs $12. This price includes admission to theFaire. Tea serves on the hours 11am to 3pm. Bring your young knights and their ladies to enjoy creating shields and headdresses, face painting and brass rubbing in the Children’s Castle. This is the event where you will find the best local British vendors, crafts, specialty foods and cheeses, teas, Celtic jewelry, antiques, books, Christmas crackers and much more.

If you have a moment to spare this Saturday afternoon, September 26th, then Delmar Gardens of Lenexa Fall Festival. The Delmar Gardens of Lenexa Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is hosting a fall festival from 3pm to 6pm. There will be lots of activities for the whole family.
