Join the countdown to illuminate The Legends and be among the first in Kansas City to enjoy thousands of lights choreographed to holiday classics. Celebrate the evening with a free live concert featuring The Kansas City Boys Choir and a free open house to My Santa Experience. This event is free.

Independence Square Tree Lighting Ceremony
November 2nd, 2009
The Independence Square Tree Lighting Ceremony is this Saturday November 7th. The north steps of the beautifully restored Courthouse lawn will be the site of Holiday Magic. Visitors will enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the season with hot cider, kettle corn, roasting chestnuts, carolers, festive dancing and, of course, a visit from St Nick himself. Santa will arrive from the lofty heights of the historic clock tower high above the Courthouse. A spirited reading of “Twas the Night Before Christmas”, celebrity appearances, holiday music, and sleigh rides will be additional treats. At 6 p.m. Mayor Reimal and County Executive Mike Sanders will throw the switch lighting the Queen City Tree. Fee for sleigh rides.
